AlwaysHere Guardian — Privacy Policy

Plain version first. The guardian reads what shows up on web pages you visit and what you type, so it can warn you about scams and unsafe people. When something looks risky, it sends a short piece of that text to our server to check with an AI. We do not save what you read or type. We never read passwords. If you have a helper on your account, we can text them when something is serious. You can turn any of this off.
What the extension reads
- Text that appears on web pages, including chat messages from other people and AI chatbots.
- Text you type into message boxes and forms, except password fields, which are never read.
- The web address and title of the page.
- Which kind of form field you focus (for example "card number"), not its contents, on pages that look fake.
Reading happens on your device. Nothing leaves your device unless a local rule detects a possible risk.
What leaves your device, and when
When a local rule detects a possible risk, the extension sends to our server a snippet of up to about 1,800 characters of the most recent relevant text, the page's web address and site type, and your account token. Our server sends the snippet to our AI provider (currently Google's Gemini model, through Lovable's AI service) to classify the risk and write a plain-language warning. The snippet is used only to produce that warning.
What we store
- Never: page contents, messages, or anything you typed. Snippets are processed in memory and discarded.
- For 90 days: a summary of each warning — the site, the risk level, the category (for example "gift card request"), the warning headline, and what you did with it (dismissed or followed). This helps us tune the guardian and lets you or your helper review history.
- While paired: which recipient this browser belongs to, a device label, and when it was last active. Your helper's name and phone come from their existing AlwaysHere account.
Helper (caregiver) texts
If your account has a helper phone number and alerts are on, we send that number a short text describing the risk in general terms (for example "asked for gift card codes on Messenger"). Texts never include sexual content or quotes of the conversation. You control whether we ask you first, quiet hours, and whether the most serious warnings text automatically.
Who else sees data
- Lovable and Google (AI classification): receive snippets only when a local rule trips, to produce the warning.
- Supabase (server and account database).
- Twilio (sends helper texts): receives your helper's phone number and the alert text. We do not sell data. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share it with anyone else except as required by law.
Your choices
- Turn the guardian off, or turn off any category, in Settings.
- Add sites the guardian should never read (for example your bank).
- Turn off helper texts.
- Your helper can remove a paired browser from their dashboard at any time; history is deleted with the AlwaysHere account.
Children
The guardian is for adults. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Consent and supported decision-making
The guardian only starts after you (and, where you have one, the person who helps you make decisions) agree on the Settings page. You can withdraw that agreement any time by turning the guardian off or removing the extension.
