Point the camera, keep talking

The person shows the companion what they are looking at, and it describes it in plain language and stays on the line for the next step.

  • Reading labels, dates, and small print out loud
  • Explaining what a letter or form is asking for
  • Walking through appliance buttons one at a time
  • Describing a room, a street sign, or an unfamiliar object

Privacy first

The camera is used when the person opens it, for that moment, at their choice. It is not a monitoring tool, and there is no always-on watching.

The limits worth knowing

It can misread handwriting, poor lighting, and glare. It should never be relied on for medication identification or anything where being wrong is dangerous.
