Why a familiar voice helps

Tone, pace, and accent carry recognition even when names slip. Families often notice that the same words land differently in a voice the person has heard for decades.

The consent rules

Voice matching is optional, opt-in, and governed by rules we do not bend.

Only with the recorded consent of the person whose voice it is
The companion still says it is an AI, in that voice, whenever asked
It never claims to be the person whose voice it resembles
Consent can be withdrawn, and the voice removed, at any time

Where we say no

We do not build a voice of someone who has died in order to let a family pretend otherwise, and we do not support using a voice to persuade someone to do something they have refused.

If the purpose of the voice is to deceive, it is the wrong tool and we will say so.

Most families never need it

The companion works well with a neutral voice the person likes. Voice matching is a preference, not a requirement, and it is easy to try the plain version first.

Questions families ask

Do you clone a voice without permission?

Never. Recorded consent from the voice owner is required before a voice can be used.

Will my loved one be told it is an AI?

Yes, including when a matched voice is used. Disclosure does not change with the voice.

Can we remove a voice later?

Yes, at any time, and the companion continues with a standard voice.
